Mjchael Nutley, editor of New Media Age, will reveal his predictions

Press Release - 17 March 2006

Predictions for the future of new media

Local people have the opportunity to hear the editor of New Media Age reveal his predictions for trends in new media at a free public lecture at the University of Bath in Swindon (Thursday 23 March).

Michael Nutley will give an overview of the new media sector, both from a client and a service provider perspective, and identify what he sees as the emerging trends.

A business journalist for twenty years, Mr Nutley became the editor of New Media Age in July 2000. His particular areas of interest are online advertising, interactive TV and the transformative effect of interactive media on organisations.

The evening will enable entrepreneurs to ask questions and network with other local specialists. It will also be an opportunity to see the work being done by the Swindon Innovation Centre.

The Innovation Centre provides hands-on support and expertise to new technology enterprises that emerge from the University’s research base, that are established by academics and students.

From the very earliest stages of exploring a novel business idea to the establishment of fully trading companies, the Innovation Centre provides support at each key stage of a business’ development. Through the SETSquared pre-incubation facilities, and in the later-stage Incubator area, Innovation Centre clients are offered fully serviced offices, opportunities to access finance, business skills mentoring and assistance with protecting Intellectual Property.

The event, which is free of charge, will be hosted by the Swindon Innovation Centre, based at the University’s Oakfield campus, in partnership with SETsquared Partnerships, Wired West and The British Computer Society.
