Update: AUT industrial action

The University's senior management has issued the following statement:

The University is very disappointed that the Association of University Teachers (AUT) rejected a pay offer of 12.6 per cent over three years at its meeting with the employers association UCEA held yesterday (8 May), and that the union continues to urge its members to boycott student assessment and examinations.

The University is doing its best to minimise the effect on its students and believes that the vast majority of students will graduate as normal. It wishes to publicly thank all those academic staff who are working normally to ensure that their students are properly rewarded for their academic studies.

It is vitally important that all students keep working normally and prepare for the examinations.
