Online postgraduate open event in School for Health

The School for Health will next week hold an innovative online open event to help promote its range of postgraduate courses.

The week-long event will feature recorded video interviews with the School’s directors of studies, researchers and students, with discussion boards where visitors can ask questions about the courses they hope to study.

“The majority of our postgraduate programmes are offered via distance learning and appeal to a truly international audience,” said Cathy French, marketing co-ordinator for the School.

“This does of course mean that many of our prospective students may not be able to attend the Postgraduate Open Day that is happening on campus and we simply wanted to provide these would-be applicants with an opportunity to feel involved.

“Given that we rely on the virtual online environment to deliver so many of our courses, it make sense to promote them using this medium too.

“The interviews and discussion boards give the opportunity to put faces to the names of the people behind the courses, and generally show that the whole distance learning experience needn't feel remote.”

The School runs postgraduate programmes in a range of areas for healthcare professionals, including courses in healthcare informatics, information governance, mental health, primary care rheumatology, sport and exercise medicine and a professional doctorate.

The site will go live on 26 June 2006, when times and schedules for discussion boards will be also be made available. To find out more, visit the open event page in the related links section.
