Get directions to the University from anywhere in Britain

The 'travelling to the University' page at www.bath.ac.uk/getting-here has been updated. Originally launched in 2002, it has seen significant improvements since then.

The new version features a Transport Direct journey searchbox and live information on arrivals and departures from Bath Spa railway station provided by National Rail.

Bath is the first university in England to use a Transport Direct journey searchbox.

A spokesman for Transport Direct said: "The University of Bath clearly recognises the importance of providing comprehensive travel information. Our journey searchbox allows visitors to the University's website to get directions to the University from anywhere in Britain - simply by entering their postcode and clicking 'Go'. Transport Direct is unique in providing nationwide travel information for both car and public transport. We are very pleased that the University has decided to use our journey planner."

Pete Herat of Marketing & Communications said: "As someone who uses public transport and also cycles, it's very important to have quality, current information when planning any journey. The Transport Direct journey planner does that well. It is useful and interesting working with Transport Direct on this and we are continually aiming to improve the quality of information we offer."
