Learning for life and leisure: enrol for new autumn courses

The new autumn prospectus from the University of Bath in Swindon's Centre for Lifelong Learning is now available. From Archaeology to Philosophy via Drama and Horticulture, and all subjects in-between, enrolment for the Centre's programme of part-time courses starts today.

The new programme of part-time courses, held at the University's Oakfield campus in Marlowe Avenue, runs from 9 October to 14 December.

Brand-new courses in a range of subjects feature on the extensive programme. In Photography, students can improve their travel shots with On Location – the Essentials of Travel Photography or in Archaeology, take a short course in Archaeological Surveying and enjoy a day out in the field.

New weekend and day schools include courses on Animation, How to Maximise Visitors to your Website, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Peyote Stitch Beadwork and a special day school for male voice choir aficionados Sing Low Sweet Chariot.

“We're really pleased to be offering our students such a broad and varied programme this Autumn,” says Caroline Gardiner, Lifelong Learning Manager at the University.

“Feedback from our students tells us that they really appreciate the quality of teaching, experience and enthusiasm of our course tutors. It's one of the main reasons why people enrol year after year.”

For the first time students are encouraged to enrol online. For more information see related links in the top left hand corner.

“We have a new website which is really user-friendly,” says Caroline. “It's all too easy to put off filling in a form so it's great to offer such a quick and easy route to enrolment. A few clicks and you're there. We piloted the online system last year and over 300 people enrolled without any difficulty. ”

For help and advice with online enrolment, students can visit the Lifelong Learning office at the Oakfield campus and should phone in advance on 01793 328801.

The Lifelong Learning Programme in Swindon is now in its sixth year and has achieved over 10,000 enrolments to date.
