Business people invited to breakfast with an expert in entrepreneurship

Local business people can get practical advice to kick-start their sales and profits in a breakfast seminar given by one of the UK’s best-known speakers on entrepreneurship.

The free seminar, Bright marketing: Kick-start your sales & profits, will take place on Friday 30 March at 7.30am-10am at Carpenter House in the city centre, and is organised by the University of Bath in Swindon.

Seminar speaker Robert Craven is managing director of the Directors’ Centre based in Bath. He works with fast-growing businesses, mentoring the leaders of some of the UK’s top independent businesses.

Mr Craven shuns text book theories and offers practical ways to grow a business fast. His session will provide specific, measurable ways to transform sales and profit margins, helping people to make their business stand out from the rest and rekindle their business passion.

Mr Craven is described as the “entrepreneurship guru” by The Financial Times newspaper. He has written two best-selling business books with forewords from Sir Richard Branson praising his ability to make businesses more profitable and successful.

Mr Craven’s first job was in London’s Petticoat Lane selling sheets. Since then he has gone on to run restaurants, management training companies and sound-recording studios and was director of consultancy and training for growing businesses at Warwick Business School. He now runs The Directors’ Centre, an awarding consultancy for growing businesses, and is a sought-after speaker.

The seminar is part of the Leadership and Management programme run by the University’s Business Hub and funded by the European Social Fund. Further seminars with leading business speakers will run each month in Bath and Swindon until June.

The events are open to all local business people but priority for places will be given to people from businesses with up to ten employees. To book a free place contact Carole Shepphard on 01793 328772. See related links to book online and for more information about Robert Craven.
