Review of Oakfield Strategy

On 1 March 2007, Council commissioned a review of the University’s Oakfield Strategy. In order to progress this review, the Executive Committee has now established an Oakfield Strategy Review Group.

Proposed Terms of Reference

The Oakfield Strategy Review Group will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for undertaking a comprehensive review of the University’s strategy for Oakfield. The Oakfield Strategy Review Group will report through the Executive Committee to the University Council. The Oakfield Strategy Review Group will:

• undertake an analysis of the activities based at, and related to, the Oakfield Campus, including consultation with the staff, students, users and other local/regional stakeholders
• explore opportunities for the development of HE provision in Swindon and Wiltshire, looking beyond the current widening participation remit of the Oakfield Campus and considering the formation of strategic partnerships and innovative approaches to delivery
• undertake an options appraisal for the future portfolio of activities, including commercial activities, at the Oakfield Campus, noting the need to achieve financial and intellectual sustainability
• offer recommendations through Executive Committee to Council on the University’s future Oakfield Strategy.
