New MSc in Advanced Computer Systems approved by Senate

The Department of Computer Science is pleased to introduce a new portfolio of MSc courses from autumn 2007, under the title of ‘Advanced Computer Systems’.

The courses are designed to equip graduates with skills and knowledge in their chosen area of technology by harnessing the research expertise in the department. The resulting qualification is both specialist and industrially relevant.

The programme will meet the demand for researchers and practitioners in such rapidly developing areas as vision and music technology, security, agent technology and human-computer interaction. Students on the programme will be exposed to cutting-edge research in preparation for a career in their chosen field.

The programme was given final approval by Senate last week and the first cohort will begin study in October 2007.
