It's European Day of Languages - why not start learning a new one?

A message from the Foreign Languages Centre:

Today is the European Day of Languages. If you have always fancied learning a language (or wish to develop existing skills) why not sign up for one of the courses run by the University?

The Foreign Languages Centre runs courses for undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as for members of the public and University staff with the Community Courses programme. Languages offered this year include French, Spanish, Italian, German, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

Languages are becoming increasingly important in the job market and a language qualification can significantly increase employment potential. Alternatively, many people study a language purely for fun and find that holidays abroad are made more enjoyable through a greater level of communication.
