The University of Bath Staff Survey 2007 - summary of results

Executive considered the results of the first survey of staff views about their work and the University at its meeting yesterday, (Wednesday 30 January).

The survey was designed by the University, the trade unions and Capita People Development Survey Unit, a professional HR research and consultancy organisation.

The University is committed to improving the quality of working life for staff and the results of the survey will enable the University to focus on key aspects which are important to staff.

The Staff Survey was conducted during October and November 2007 by Capita who received completed questionnaires from 1,516 staff, a response rate of 49% based on 3,118 surveys sent out to staff employed by the University.

The Executive would like to thank all members of staff who completed the survey.

Next steps

Executive agreed that a summary report should be circulated to departments and made available on the web.

A paper setting out priority areas for action will be presented to University Council at its meeting at the end of February.
