Changes to the Management Structure of the University

In view of the forthcoming retirement of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and vacancies in the posts of Director of Human Resources and Director of Marketing & Communications, the management structure of the University has been reviewed, in order to:

Recommendations were considered by Executive Committee on 30 January 2008. This followed a period of consultation undertaken by the Vice-Chancellor.

Revised management structure & new reporting lines

The revised management structure was approved, as summarised below, for implementation with effect from 1 August 2008 (unless otherwise stated).

As a consequence of these changes, there are three immediate vacancies arising:

The Senior Academic Appointments Committee will meet on 28 February 2008 to consider these vacancies. Consultations with Faculties for the two Dean posts will be undertaken in the usual way by the Vice-Chancellor. Those wishing to express an interest in any of these vacancies are requested to notify the Vice-Chancellor by email G.Breakwell@bath.ac.uk by 20 February 2008 at the latest.
