Author to talk on ‘Words v The Word’

Indian-born novelist and journalist Farrukh Dhondy will be presenting to students and staff on the relationship between literature and religion. The talk will take place on Wednesday 12 March 2008 at 4.15pm (3 East 2.2).

Farruk Dhondy is an author, activist, playwright and scriptwriter, born in Poona, India. In this lecture, he will be exploring the links between literature and religion.

Dhondy will be looking at the origins of novels and their impact on faith, using examples of Pilgrim’s Progress, George Eliot, Tennyson and more.

The presentation will be hosted by the University’s Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences as part of their research seminar series.

Admission for the talk is free and open to all students and staff. The lecture starts at 4.15pm in the lecture hall 3 East 2.2 on the Claverton campus.
