Sensors & Sensing networking event - an opportunity for new University collaborations

Academics and researchers interested or working in fields requiring sensors and sensing input are invited to a themed networking event on 16 April 2008.

Organised by the Ideas Factory/ Bridging the Gaps team, the objective of the day is to increase awareness of sensors-related expertise within the University and to facilitate cross-disciplinary introductions.

To date, staff from ten different departments have confirmed their participation. Please see Related Links for a list of participants.

The event will take place in the Claverton Rooms, from 3.30-5.30pm. Please arrive on time so as not to miss the introductions.

Refreshments will be provided.

If you would like to participate in this networking event, please email Katja Haferburg supplying the following details:

The Bridging the Gaps team will stage further workshops on the sensors and sensing theme to identify joint research possibilities and to help new research collaborators get together.

Seed-funding is available to kick-start a new project in this area.

Bridging the Gaps is an EPSRC-funded initiative to foster new research collaborations, particularly across mathematics, computer science and engineering disciplines.
