Press Release - 16 April 2008

Free networking event to reveal secrets of women entrepreneurs

Are you a woman looking to start or do you already run your own business? A trio of successful local business women will be offering inspiration and advice at a free lunchtime networking event to be held in Carpenter House, University of Bath on 21 May 2008 (12.30pm - 2.30pm).

Sue Stockdale, ambassador for women’s enterprise and author of Secrets of successful women entrepreneurs, will be interviewing three inspirational business women to learn how their personal and business competences have contributed to their success.

Rosie Inge, a partner at Churton Inge Associates, will explain how she overcame obstacles in setting up her client base and how 20 years experience in the PR industry helped her establish a now thriving advertising and PR agency based near Wells.

Medics on the move was founded by Vickie Knighton and partner in 2003. The business was set up to help busy people who did not have time to find a home to rent or buy. Vickie will be explaining how she coped as her business grew rapidly and developed into a network of 24 franchises.

Eva Fernandez will be answering questions about her business Born. Set up in March 2000 with her sister, Born is now the leading UK retailer and online shop for natural parenting and organic baby products. Eva will explain how winning the prestigious Envolve Sustainable Business Award 2004 helped them to raise their profile and expand their business to a wider audience.

The event runs from 12.30pm to 1.15pm in Carpenter House, Broad Quay, Bath, light refreshments will be available, women only. To register your interest in this event, please see the links above or call 01793 328775.

This free taster event is organised by the Mission Possible networking group, for women who want inspiration and information on how to start up and run their business successfully.
