Press Release - 06 May 2008

Vacancy: University Research Adviser

A message from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell

Expressions of interest are invited for the post of University Research Adviser.

As part of the restructuring of the senior management team, two posts of University Research Adviser have been created.

These are high-level appointments, equivalent to Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellorships in some other universities. They report to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research).

The posts will be used to support formulation and implementation of the University's corporate research strategy and international research collaborations.

They are part-time appointments, the percentage of time devoted to the role will be negotiated with the postholders.

One of these posts will be filled by Professor Geof Wood when he completes his term of office as Dean of Humanities & Social Sciences in the summer.

I am now seeking expressions of interest for the second post.

Candidates for this post will have experience of management within the HE sector, a good understanding of the national and international contexts in which we are developing our research and exploiting our intellectual property. He/she will also be an outstanding researcher in their own right.

Those wishing to express an interest in this vacancy are requested to contact me by email providing an up-to-date CV, by Tuesday 27 May 2008 at the latest.
