Summer award ceremonies - vox pop

The summer award ceremonies began yesterday and continue until tomorrow.

Here are comments from some graduates who collected their degrees:

Georgina Lott from Herefordshire graduated with a BSc Biology, and is going on to study for a masters in education. Georgina, who hopes to become a teacher, said: “I feel very proud to have collected my degree. I was quite nervous waiting to go up on stage but it was nice to be in the impressive surroundings of the Abbey. I have enjoyed my time at Bath and made lots of lovely friends.”

Bio Chemistry graduate Adam Cassim, from Croydon, is staying on at Bath to study for a masters in business management. He said: “I thought the ceremony was brilliant; it was very professionally done and it was a nice finish to my degree. Hopefully I will be back here to collect my masters.”

Rob Baker, from Windsor, graduated with a BSc in Natural Sciences and is hoping to become a consultant. He said: “The ceremony was everything I imagined. I felt very proud. I have lots of good memories of my time at Bath; it is a great place to go to university.”

Priscilla Lo and Helen Graves both graduated yesterday with a masters in Biochemistry. Helen, who will be joining Pfizer as a medical researcher in September, said: “Bath was a really great choice for both of us. We both totally fell in love with the area and gained lots of very useful skills on our course. My future employers said the placement was one of the reasons they like employ Bath graduates – because we have gained valuable work experience. Priscilla, from Hong Kong, said: “I’ve really enjoyed it – it’s all gone really quickly though, both the course and our graduation day.”
