Blackwell to be new campus book supplier

The University is pleased to announce that Blackwell will act as its supplier of books on campus.

Blackwell will provide a flexible service, giving staff and students online access to over three million titles, compared to the thousands it is possible to stock in a traditional campus bookshop.

The new service will include:

Books ordered online will be delivered to the temporary bookstall during the operational period of the facility and to a special point in the Library outside of these times.

Blackwell can also deliver to off-campus addresses.

Current delivery data from similar operations in UK universities indicate that 64% of in-stock titles are delivered within 24 hours, 78% of orders are dispatched within two days and 96% are dispatched with one week.

A special Users’ Forum will be set up with representatives of Blackwell and the University to make sure that the service being offered is appropriate to the needs of the Bath community.

The introduction of this new approach to book supply on campus mirrors developments in a significant number of similar universities.

Further details about the new service will be published shortly.
