Staff say University Department of Education is a ‘great place to work’

The University of Bath’s Department of Education has retained its prestigious Investors in People (IiP) Award for the eighth year in a row.

IiP is the national standard aimed at improving the performance and realising the objectives of an organisation through the effective management and development of its people.

Achievement of the standard demonstrates the department's commitment to its most important asset - its people, and their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment towards a common goal.

The latest assessment commended the department for its high quality staff development, its enthusiastic, highly valued leaders and effective teams, as well as its culture of appreciation and recognition. Of those interviewed 83 per cent cited the department as a 'great place to work'.

Head of Department, Dr Yolande Muschamp, said: "I am pleased that the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment of the individual members of the department has been recognised in this award. It is the staff here who make the department such a rewarding place to work.”

The Department of Education also prides itself upon the quality of its research, teaching and provision for students, offering a range of undergraduate programmes in the area of coaching and sports performance, as well as teacher training, masters and doctoral programmes.

This year also sees the introduction of a unique BA degree in Childhood, Youth & Education Studies, which aims to tackle some of society’s most challenging issues and help improve the lives of children and young people today.

The University of Bath is one of the UK's leading universities, with an international reputation for quality research and teaching. View a full list of the University's press releases:
