Second call for bids to the CPD Development Fund

The University is pleased to announce the second call for bids to the CPD Development Fund.

Launched in October by the Task & Finish Group, this fund has been established to improve the way we meet the training and development needs of regional and national employers.

The fund responds to the government agenda to increase workforce participation in higher education. It seeks to encourage the trial of innovative new ways of working with employers on higher level skills projects

Following the first call for bids in October, seven proposals have been successfully funded to date. (Please see Related Links for further details).

The fund will now be managed by the CPD Support & Development Office, recently established to offer support across the University to those engaging in CPD activity with external employers.

The CPDSDO is now inviting further proposals.

Two types of applications are supported:

Projects should be demand-led, and should either address an individual employer’s training and development requirements, or more generally, respond to the needs of a particular sector.

For information on the criteria for bids, see Related Links.

For questions or help and guidance, please contact on ext 6411 or 3745.

Proposals should be submitted by 9 March 2009.
