Professor Andrew Pettigrew receives OBE

Professor Andrew Pettigrew, who retired from the University of Bath at the end of September 2008, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours list for services to higher education.

Professor Pettigrew worked at London and Warwick Business Schools before becoming Dean of the School of Management in 2003 and making a major contribution to the success of the School and University in recent years.

His understanding of the practice and process of management has also been tapped into by many public and private sector organisations. In 2008 he became Vice-President of the world's largest management development organisation, the European Foundation for Management Development.

The University warmly congratulates him on this well-deserved honour.

University of Bath Vice-Chancellor Professor Glynis Breakwell said: “The OBE is well-deserved. Our School of Management is now fifth highest rated for research in the UK. It attained this prestigious position under his leadership."
