Is time wasted on irregular spellings? Are our children being held back by spelling tests?
Professor John Wells, eminent phonetics expert, at University College London, will be looking at these issues and others surrounding them in a free public lecture at the University of Bath next Wednesday 11 February.
It’s the first in this season’s General University Lecture Programme(GULP) which are open to the public.
