Juggling convention heralded a huge success

Things were ‘up in the air’ at the University of Bath at the weekend when it hosted a celebration of juggling skills.

Around 300 students and members of the public took part in the juggling convention which was held in conjunction with Bath Spa University at the Sports Hall on the Claverton campus.

The University of Bath's Students' Union juggling and circus skills society Gravity Vomit presented their talents as well as giving people a chance to join in through workshops .

The event was funded by the University of Bath's Alumni Fund, the Institute for Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts and Relays.

Richard Butterfield, chairman of Gravity Vomit, said: “It was a great event, with complete beginners to experienced and professional jugglers and circus artists coming too.

“The day went without a hitch, and a large amount of positive feedback has been received. We are truly overwhelmed by it all.

"We want the event to become a permanent fixture in both the juggling and University calendars, and hopefully we have inspired members of the society to take the helm and continue the event long into the future!"

The day consisted of juggling games and lessons and culminated with a show in the evening featuring professional jugglers.
