A public lecture placing the life and work of Albert Einstein in an historical context is being held at the University of Bath on Wedensday March 25 at 5.15pm at the Lecture Theatre 8 West 1.1.

Local children see science come to life
Over 700 local school pupils were inspired by science, today, as Bath Taps into Science began at the University (Friday 13 March). Twenty different primary and secondary schools from Bath and the surrounding area came to enjoy the hands-on science fun, having a go at understanding why things work as they do. Families and shoppers can enjoy the fair’s second day at Bath’s Green Park Station on Saturday 14 March (10am to 4pm).

Bath MP Don Foster and Cllr David Bellotti joined more than 300 students and staff in a world record breaking attempt for eating Fairtrade bananas today (Friday 6 March) on the Parade.

Local school pupils to discover science through slime
The Bath Taps into Science fair will give people of all ages the chance to learn about the world by having fun with science, through interactive and attention-grabbing displays and demonstrations. On Friday 13 March the fair will be held at the University's Founders' Sports Hall (11am to 3pm). The second day will run at Green Park Station on Saturday 14 March (10am to 4pm). Entrance is free.

Public lecture: Boomerangs put science in a spin
Dr Hugh Hunt will present Science in a Spin, a lively talk with boomerangs, toys and videos to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week, on Wednesday 11 March in the University Hall at 7pm. Don Foster MP to Go Bananas at the University of Bath
Don Foster MP and Cllr David Bellotti, Chairman of Bath & North-East Somerset Council, will join staff and students hoping to set a new world record for eating Fairtrade bananas on Friday 6 March at 1pm on the Parade. The Go Banannas event is part of Fairtrade Fortnight and everyone is welcome.

Watts new in clean energy materials? – batteries included.
University of Bath Professor Saiful Islam will deliver a talk into new materials behind clean energy technologies that help reduce carbon emissions on Monday 9 March, as part of the Bath Café Science series. It will be held at The Raven pub in Queen Street in the centre of town. No tickets or reservations are required - just turn up at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

University Chaplain, Rev Angela Berners-Wilson, has become a Prebendary of Wells Cathedral following her installation and collation last night (24 February). It's an honorary role which dates back to medieval times and is in recognition of her 30 years service to the Church of England
