University Carol Service Today

Collegues, friends and staff are invited to attend a short memorial service for Carmen Gabriela (Gaby) Miron-Buchacra, a fifth-year PhD student, who died in June. The service will take place on Friday 19 October at 3pm in the Chaplaincy Centre on campus.

Ian Sutherland, the founding Director of Julian House, Bath’s charity for homeless men and women, is receiving an honorary degree today, Tuesday 3 July, at the University of Bath’s Summer Award ceremonies.

We regret to announce the death of Euan Redfern, a third year undergraduate pharmacology student; Euan has died suddenly while on placement in Belgium.

University Carol Service - Wednesday 7 December 2011

Students and staff, together with their friends and families, are warmly invited to the annual University Carol Service which takes place in Bath Abbey Wednesday 7 December, at 7.30pm. The service is free to attend, with a retiring collection for the charity Wateraid. Doors open at 7pm and you are advised to arrive early to get a good seat.

Two minutes silence - Friday 11 November

The silence at precisely 11am will be preceded by prayers and end with the Last Post. Please assemble outside the Library on the Parade by 10.55am so we can have the silence at exactly 11am in line with the rest of the country.

Summer degree ceremonies to take place at Bath Abbey

The University of Bath’s 2011 summer degree award ceremonies take place next week, with more than 2,000 students expected to attend at the city’s Abbey.
The ten ceremonies will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (5, 6, & 7 July), with awards made to nine honorary graduates for outstanding achievements spanning the fields of arts, science and medicine, engineering, business and policy-making.

What happens when we die?

Bishop of Bath & Wells pays visit to campus

The Bishop of Bath & Wells, the Right Reverend Peter Price, visited the University of Bath campus recently as part of a planned 48-hour visit to the Bath Deanery.

Two-minute silence in memory of victims of Polish air crash

The University wishes to express its sympathy to any Polish staff members or students who may have been affected by the news of the weekend's plane crash, in which 96 passengers died including Poland's president. In memory of the victims of the tragedy and in solidarity with mourning Poles, University Chaplain Angela Berners-Wilson will lead a two-minute silence at 12.10pm tomorrow, Tuesday 13 April 2010.
