University Founders Day 2016 celebrates a 50 year relationship with the city

At its annual Founders Day event held on Wednesday 9 March, the University of Bath, which was founded in 1966, celebrated the decision of the local council to allow some of its land to be used as a site for a new university campus in Bath. This was once again marked by the payment of a peppercorn to Bath & North East Somerset (BANES) Council in lieu of rent for its land on Claverton Down.

Our Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell today (Tuesday 1 March) welcomed the England men’s rugby team to the University where they are training as part of their preparations for their next RBS 6 Nations match against Wales on Saturday 12 March at Twickenham Stadium.
Vice-Chancellor appointed to Science and Technology Honours Committee

Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell, has been appointed by the Cabinet Office to the committee which reviews nominations made for national honours (such as knighthoods and damehoods) in the fields of science and technology.
