Film: Celebrating Olympics training camps
A short film celebrating our involvement in hosting athletes from 12 different countries over five continents. Bath showcases latest sustainable chemical technologies
Scientists from academia and industry got together to discuss the latest in sustainable chemical technologies at Bath from 9 to 11 July 2012. The Summer Showcase was hosted by the University’s Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) for Sustainable Chemical Technologies, part of the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies (CSCT).

Local school pupils get to grips with foreign language & culture
Year 9 & 10 students from St Gregory’s School in Bath attended two Language & Culture Days organised by the Foreign Languages Centre recently. The days were sponsored by a government programme called Routes into Languages, which aims to inspire and encourage young people to study languages.

Professor Tony James, Dr Matthew Jones & Dr Simon Lewis from the Department of Chemistry are associate editors of Chemistry Central Journal, an open-access on-line journal which has increased its impact factor (the diverse ways in which knowledge and skills generated by research, benefit individuals, organisations and communities) from 1.65 to 3.28 in just 12 months.

A series of open days for school pupils with autism have been held at the University following a three-year-long project funded by EPSRC during which researchers worked with the youngsters to develop a computer-based tutor aimed at improving their mathematics learning.

Wessex House Commercial Reorganisation
On Monday 6 August work will begin with demolishing internal walls in the former Bath Ventures offices on Level 2, which may result in some noise. Wanted! Your nail clippings (£4 each)
The Skin & Nail Research Group in the Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology are developing new methods to deliver drugs to the nails. For their experiments they need nail clippings 8-10mm long and are happy to pay £4 for each nail clipping to thank you for your collaboration.

An email falsely claiming to be from IT Webmail support has been sent to 1800 University email addresses. Please ignore this email. It is an attempt to 'phish' or steal your personal information by obtaining your log-in details.
