University launches new Public Engagement Unit
The University has been awarded £300,000 to set up a new Public Engagement Unit to help us promote our research.

Two students win BUCS Service Desk/ITP store redesign competition
Zifeng Wei and Patrick McEvoy, forth year students from the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering jointly entered the recent competition and each won a £100 Amazon voucher for their design, which opens out the existing Service Desk area into a friendly, customer oriented, store.

Researcher internationally recognised for outstanding work in tobacco control
Silvy Peeters a member of the Tobacco Control Research Group within our Department for Health was recently presented with a Young Investigator Award at the closing ceremony of the 15th World Conference on Tobacco or Health (WCTOH) in Singapore.

Lights, camera, action: KTA-funded media training back by popular demand - Wednesday 9 May
Knowledge Transfer Account (KTA) has organised and funded a media training workshop. Places are limited so anyone interested is being urged to book now by contacting Will Marsh, Head of Corporate Communications.

A road map to involving patients in research - Friday 25 May
This one-day event will help attendees gain an insight into the importance and benefits of patient and public involvement (PPI) as well as provide practical information to help support the use of PPI within their own research.
