Over 60 school children from the Bath area will be sharing their excitement
for science as part of the Bath Taps into Science festival organised

Uni to co-host UK Schools Games in 2008
Celebrations are going on in Bristol and Bath following the news that
the cities have won the right to stage the UK School Games in 2008,
which will give both elite and community athletes a chance to show
their skills.
Creative arts and advice to inspire carers
Local carers can enjoy a range of creative arts and make new and inspired
life choices in a free event for Adult Learners’ Week at the
University of Bath in Swindon (21-25 May).
New businesses join Swindon Innovation Centre
Five promising new companies are joining Oakfield’s Innovation
Centre to take advantage of the facilities and support it offers to science

in BUCS have developed a downloadable Red Nose Day mouse cursor for staff
and students.

design & print services refurbishment
The Print Unit located in 8 West is undergoing a major refurbishment
to improve its facilities and to accommodate a new design suite and
customer service area.
Recycle bins arrive on campus
There are new recycling bins on the Claverton campus; these are part
of the University's on-going commitment to reduce the amount of waste
sent to landfill.
UCAS convention will bring changes to car parking on campus
The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) Convention will
be held at the Sports Training Village on Monday and Tuesday (12 and
13 March). Part of the East car park will be roped off for coaches.
Free Saturday campus tours for prospective students reintroduced
The University has reintroduced free Saturday tours of its campus for
prospective students.

Golds for Gardener, Garland and Green
Bath Bullet Jason Gardener won an historic fourth successive 60m title
at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham. Training
partners Dale Garland and Steve Green also won golds for GB in a dramatic
4×400m relay.
Footballers progress to BUSA semis
The firsts will face Swansea for a place in the final of the British
Universities Football Championships.
Students Young and Nurse take Team Bath Road Race titles
University runners Andy Young and Laura Nurse were overall winners of
the 2006/7 Team Bath Road Race Series, sponsored by Running Bath.
Janne looking forward to World stage
Breaststroker Janne Schaefer hopes to follow up her European Short Course
success with a World Championships medal in Australia later this month.
