Boost for regenerative medicine
The University's Centre for Regenerative Medicine has been successful in its bid for a
€1.2M EU Marie Curie grant for early stage researcher training in regenerative medicine.
The CRM is an interdisciplinary research centre with staff members drawn from the Departments of Biology & Biochemistry, Pharmacy & Pharmacology and Chemical Engineering.
Ethnic conflict: Why people keep killing each other and what we can do about it

Fr Bill OSM, the University's Roman Catholic Chaplain, suffered a heart attack on 5 February and is currently in hospital in Bristol. He is, therefore, unable to attend appointments. We wish him a speedy recovery.
New scheme to help students get good vacation work experience
The University has launched a new Enterprise Bursary Scheme to help students get good vacation work experience.
Ariadne web magazine publishes its 10th anniversary issue
Over its ten years of existence Ariadne, which is published by UKOLN, has covered an increasingly wide range of projects in all forms of digital information management, both in the UK and abroad.

RAE criteria and working methods published
The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) criteria and working methods by subject panels have been published by the four UK HE funding bodies. Along with the guidance on submissions, these will provide the key information for institutions as they prepare their RAE submissions.
Up-to-date travel information page
A new web service giving up-to-date information on conditions of travel to the University has been launched. Please email delay@bath.ac.uk if you are aware of delays on the roads, buses or trains.
Annual Report now online
The University's Annual Report for 2004-05 is now available in PDF format on the web. Hard copies are available from Claire Hornshaw, ext 6319.
Improvements to lifts
Over the next two weeks improvements will be made to the lifts in Wessex and Norwood House to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act. The lifts are also being changed from "Down Collectives" to "Full Collectives" to improve the service between floors in both directions. The Department of Estates apologises for the noise and disruption this work will cause.

IWMW2006 - Call for speakers
The call for speakers for this year's Institutional Web Management Workshop,
to be held at the University of Bath on Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 June
2006, is now open. The event will provide an opportunity for those involved
in the provision of institutional Web services to hear about institutional
case studies, national initiatives and emerging technologies.
Kathryn runs for charity
Kathryn Yuill (Pharmacy & Pharmacology) will be running the London marathon this year for the charity, Whizz-kidz. This charity aims to provide disabled children with equipment to aid their mobility (tricycles, motorised wheelchairs etc). Please consider sponsoring her.

Football: TeamBath Buzz but get no points
