New project to cut greenhouse gases
An innovative project to cut the amount of greenhouse gas used in building and running homes, shops and offices is underway in Bath.

Middle-aged men sought to help slow the ageing process
Scientists at the University of Bath are looking for middle-aged men to help them work out how to slow down the ageing process.

Professor Saiful Islam joins Department of Chemistry
Saiful Islam has just taken up a new appointment as Professor of Computational Materials Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry.

Personal Chairs for Tim Birks & Philip Salmon
Two members of the Physics Department, Tim Birks and Philip Salmon, have been appointed professors. Both take up personal chairs.

£750,000 business projects to launch in Swindon
The University of Bath in Swindon has been awarded £750,000 funding by the European Social Fund to set up three projects during 2006 aimed at supporting local businesses.

Swindon businesses hit the news
Local Swindon businesses are being invited to a free talk on how they can use the media to raise their profile and boost their business.

Unwanted Christmas present sale 2006 Tuesday 31 January

Last year you raised £4,100 for the Tsunami Appeal; this year the money you raise will help out closer to home: Dorothy House Hospice - concerned with ensuring the best possible quality of life for people with life threatening illnesses. Julian House - the leading provider of services to homeless men and women in B&NES.

Improving library entrance
A full consultant team has now been appointed to proceed to tender with a scheme to improve the entrance to the Library on Level 2 (Parade). Works will start immediately after the exams in the summer with completion for September 2006.

Staff! Learn a language at lunchtime
The Foreign Languages Centre offers staff lunchtime classes in French, German, Italian and Spanish. These are continuation classes from semester 1 but new members are also welcome. Please register as soon as possible.

Yoga for Health classes
Places are still available on DfLL yoga courses. They will be taking place at Carpenter House on Thursday mornings starting next week or on campus at Wednesday evenings starting 1 February. 

Car sharing scheme
The scheme is free to use - you simply share the travel costs. It links drivers and passengers together online as part of the largest car sharing scheme in the UK and helps reduce the pollution and congestion on our roads.
