The FLC conversation classes aim to develop speaking skills, whilst using topics and grammar structures learnt during the academic year. The classes are open to existing students or to anyone interested in practising the language, but not to complete beginners.
Effective networking workshops - helping you network confidently Tuesday 26 June
This two hour session will give you practical skills in networking at a meeting, highlighting which groups of people to join (and leave) and how to do that effectively.
Computer workstations risk assessment Tuesday 26 June
This course will enable assessors in departments to conduct and record computer workstation risk assessments for their colleagues with confidence and in accordance with legal requirements.
Sustainable Chemical Technologies Summer Showcase Monday 9 - Wednesday 11 July
Annual Summer showcase focusing on disseminating the latest research in the area of sustainable chemical technologies.
Lifting and carrying for office-based staff Tuesday 10 July
On this course you will learn how and why injury occurs when handling and moving objects, how to minimise the risks by adopting a risk assessment-based approach and how to lift and carry sensibly to avoid injury.
This is a 12 hour course consisting of 4 modules spread over 2 days. It comprises a mixture of presentations and participation and is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health.
