University reconsiders proposed new campus at Gateway, Swindon
Senate has decided to recommend to the University's Council that the University should withdraw from the Gateway project in Swindon following
the revised site Masterplan and publicly announced changes to the strategic investment priorities for the higher education sector.
The Vice-Chancellor invites all staff to a meeting at 1.15pm on Thursday 22 February in 5West 2.3 to outline the current position and to seek their views. The views of the community will then be reported to Council.
Green technology to boost production of malaria ‘wonder drug'
New technologies that make the large-scale extraction of a natural antimalarial ‘wonder drug' both cheaper and greener are to be developed in a European project which includes work by Alexei Lapkin (Chemical Engineering). Deal will see University technology go to market

Sophos Anti-Virus upgrade

- Hofesh Shechter presents deGENERATION (Sat 17 Feb), a triple bill of explosive and intense dance pieces from one of the UK's rising talents. Hofesh, who was born in Israel, creates supremely expressive dance, packed full of ideas, in a highly charged atmosphere.
- Annie Whitehead Quintet (Sat 24 Feb). This jazz giant executes a powerful mixture of infectious African grooves and blustery free jazz with bursts of driving blues.
- Deborah Robinson's Recent Work. A new exhibition in ICIA Art Space 1 from Friday 2 March. Deeply atmospheric photographic works that draw from the edges of rational thought and vision to explore the unconscious of science.
