Dr Vasanta Subramanian from the Department of Biology and Biochemistry has been awarded a grant by the Company of Biologists to fund a minisymposium ‘Disease in a Dish – Induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell derived models for neurodegenerative diseases’.

Research in the World lecture asks how to keep robots ethical - Tuesday 20 November
Professor Alan Winfield from the Bristol Robotics Lab will put the case for a new ethical code for roboticists, in a free public lecture at the University.
This workshop will introduce the concept of multi-cultural awareness and talk about its importance as well as take participants on an imaginary trip to Poland and Russian.
What lies beneath: The influence of segmental tunnel lining on building settlements - Thursday 22 November
Professor Molins will discuss the use of segmental linings, currently the most used tunnelling technique which has reduced, to a large extent, negative effects on upper existing buildings.

Sports Performance student Natasha Maslen, won bronze at the European Cup last weekend in Malaga, Spain, to take Team Bath’s tally of senior international medals to ten this year.
