Research Council recognises top quality courses
The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and the School of Management have been successful in their application to the Economic and Social Research Council for recognition as providers of top quality Masters-level research programmes.
Innocent athletes pay the price for flawed anti-doping system, claims article
The current approach of the international agency responsible for fighting the use of drugs in sport will drive innocent athletes out of the Olympic Games, according to an article in the new International Journal of Sports Science and Coaching edited by Dr Simon Jenkins (Sports Development & Recreation). Recognition for Bath academic
Professor Helen Haste (Psychology) has been elected a member of the Academy of Social Sciences. The Academy responds to Government and other consultations on behalf of the social science community, organises meetings about social science for practitioners and seminars on topics that span social science disciplines, and sponsors a number of schemes that promote social science and enhance its value to society.

Learn Spanish in Alicante free of charge
Under the Cooperation Agreement between the Universities of Bath and Alicante, there are opportunities for members of staff to acquire basic language skills, or to improve those that they already have, whilst learning about Spanish culture. Families needed to host French students

Bob–Skeleton: Shelley slides to silver in Turin
University of Bath student Shelley Rudman has won a silver medal in the women's bob skeleton event at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin.
Rowing: Adam Freeman Pask (Natural Sciences) finished as the fastest Under 23 at Great Britain Trials held on 11 February. This superb result consolidates his position as one of the leading athletes in the race to be selected for the team that will represent Great Britain at the U23 World Championships this year.
