University closed with all examinations postponed
The campus was closed on Friday 18 January due to the severe weather conditions.

University Council visits Faculty's new labs and teaching facilities
Members of the University Council visited the new and upgraded student teaching labs and project activity centres in our Departments of Mechanical and Electronic & Electrical Engineering.
Dr Dinerstein to present paper at UN Research Institute for Social Development
Dr Ana C. Dinerstein's paper 'The Dark Side of the Social and Solidarity Economy in Latin America' has been selected to be presented at the International Symposium Potential and Limits of Social and Solidarity Economy that will be hosted by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) in Geneva.

Researchers from the University's School of Management and Department for Health urge government to cap cigarette profits
An independent regulatory agency to cap excessive profits made by cigarette manufacturers should be set up to raise an extra £500 million per year of tobacco tax revenue for the Treasury, say University researchers.
ESPRC grants awarded to our Department of Mechanical Engineering

Patrick Keogh and Dr Derek Tilley along with D T Branson and F C Wang, have been awarded the Donald Julius Groen Award by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Mechatronics, Informatics and Control Group.
Two funded studentships in mechanical engineering
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering to work with Professor Chris Bowen, who has been awarded an European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Fellowship in Novel Energy Materials: Engineering Science and Integrated Systems (NEMESIS).

Brazilian sports physiotherapist contributes to Bath's London 2012 legacy
A PhD student from the University of Campinas in Brazil who was selected as the country's lead sport physiotherapist at the Olympic Games spent 11 months in Bath working with the DisAbility Sport & Health (DASH) research group.
