Campaigns
on young people's weight are missing the point
Campaigns that try to get young people to lose weight by focusing on
their dissatisfaction with their appearance are missing the point,
says Ekant Veer, a lecturer in the Marketing Group in the
School of Management.
The Queen will see University's green chemistry exhibit
An exhibit by the University will be seen by the Queen during
a Science Day at Buckingham Palace organised as part of her 80th birthday
celebrations.
Scientists come to Bath to discuss exciting new drug prospects
Two hundred scientists from around the world are coming to Bath to
discuss how a molecule implicated in a range of diseases could become
a target for future treatments for cancer, inflammation, autoimmune
diseases and cardiovascular disease (6-9 November).

have been selected as consultants for the biggest independent enquiry

to celebrate 40th anniversary with service in Bath Abbey
The University of Bath will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a Commemoration
Service at Bath Abbey on Wednesday (25 October).

Lord Sainsbury addresses University spin-outs
New technology and science companies from the University of Bath were
showcased to over 150 investors at the SETsquared Partnership Investment
Showcase held in London with Lord Sainsbury, Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State for Science and Innovation, as the keynote
speaker (Monday 16 October).
