BANES drops plan to ban right turn from The Avenue
Council transport officials had wanted to ban cars from turning right from The Avenue into Convocation Avenue, the main access road to the University's Claverton Down campus. But when the council advertised the scheme, 88 people wrote in to object to it, while only 14 publicly supported it.

CARPP-led consortium wins Special Achievement Award
The Connect4Cymru Consortium with the Welsh Assembly Government have been awarded the Public Service People Management Special Achievement Award for their unique leadership development programme, designed to build the capacity of senior managers in public services across the whole of Wales.
The programme, which is delivered using an action learning methodology, is led by Professor Peter Reason (Management) and the Centre for Action Research in Professional Practice (CARPP) and employs a network of action research specialists from Wales and England.

Human Resources continue to meet with the campus Trade Unions to discuss proposals for implementing new pay structures in the University. Further talks are scheduled over the coming weeks. Open Day for prospective undergraduates & postgraduates

Bath take second place in BUSA Championships
Another successful year of sport at the University of Bath ensured we secured second place in the 2005/06 BUSA championships for the fourth year running.
Karate success
Seven current and former Bath students, led by University of Bath Karate Club instructors Tom Crick (Computer Science), Charlie McMullan and Jim McCafferty, have placed fifth overall (two golds and six bronzes) in the WUKO European Karate Championships in Austria, behind national federations from Italy, Romania, Belarus and Portugal.
