A vacancy for an Academic Staff Development Programmes Administrator in the Learning & Teaching Enhancement Office (LTEO) has arisen and has now been advertised on the University website. The closing date for this post is Thursday 5 January 2012.
The University’s Learning & Teaching Quality Committee (ULTQC) is pleased to invite bids for the latest round of teaching development funding for projects in academic year 2012/13. The deadline for bids is 5.00 pm on Monday 16 April 2012.

Change to wireless to improve performance - removal of 802.11b
As a measure to improve the speed of the wireless network and provide a better user experience, BUCS will be phasing out the slower 802.11b wireless standard at the end of Semester 1 (4 February 2012). After the transition is complete, only the faster 802.11g and n standards will be in use.
Please be aware that as a result of the SAMIS software being upgraded, various software will be unavailable from 18:00 (GMT) on 3 January - until 18:00 (GMT) 5 January. topˆ

David Liptrot receives prestigious award
David Liptrot (BSc Chemistry) has been awarded the Salters' Graduate award for excelling in his studies. He is now undertaking a PhD in the subject.
Hanne Kinnunen (PhD Pharmacy & Pharmacology) has been presented the Freeman Technology-sponsored prize for the best poster at December's Powder Flow 2011.
