Women feel less trusting in their relationships at work, study says
Women feel less trusting in their relationships at work than men do, a new study shows. They are less likely than men to feel that clients and other people they deal with in other companies are acting honestly with them, says Dr Simon Pervan, in the School of Management.

New genetic analysis forces re-draw of insect family tree
The family tree covering almost half the animal species on the planet has been re-drawn following a genetic analysis which has revealed new relationships between four major groups of insects.

Launch of the UK's first postgraduate programme in Healthcare Information Governance
A postgraduate course dedicated to helping health service professionals throughout the UK deal with the sensitivities, ethics and security of the information they handle was officially launched at an event in Scotland.

The University celebrates its 40th anniversary
The University held a Commemoration Service at Bath Abbey yesterday.The service was attended by 130 guests and 90 academics, who processed from the Guildhall to the Abbey, presided over by the Chancellor, Lord Tugendhat.

Graduates win design prize for Bath Rugby
The £1,000 TRADA Timber in Construction Student Prize has been awarded to a team from the University of Bath, comprising both architectural and engineering under-graduates, for a design for a new west stand for the Bath Rugby Club.

Rhodri Lewis, from the Sports, Medical and Materials Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering presented a paper at an international conference which has been accepted by a recognised journal.

The death of Professor Herman Bachelard 1929-2006
Professor Bachelard's connection with Bath began in 1975 when was appointed to the Chair of Biochemistry. In his later years, Professor Bachelard looked back on his period at Bath as the most fruitful of his career and they were certainly the most important in the development of Biochemistry at Bath.

418 bus affected by closure of Westmoreland Road to traffic
From Monday 30 October Westmoreland Road in Oldfield Park will be closed to all traffic due to gas mains replacement work for about three weeks. As a result, the 418 bus service will be affected.

New search engine based on Google launched on University website
The University has today formally launched a new search engine system for its website which is based on Google technology.

Holburne Museum offers free entry to staff and students
The Holburne Museum would like to remind all staff and students that they are entitled to free entry to its exhibitions.

The School of Management will have an MBA Open Day on Friday 3 November.
