Suspension of Industrial Action by the University and College Union
The University and College Union has informed the Vice-Chancellor that they have decided to suspend the current action short of a strike which they have been taking since 18 June 2012 in support of their dispute about changes to the Universities Superannuation Scheme.

Leave booking is going online – the next groups go live
During this week the next group of staff will start using leave recording through iTrent, the University’s new HR & Payroll system. These staff include those in the Faculties’ academic departments and the Department for Sports Development & Recreation.
The Central Timetabling Office and the GTA Working Party have collaborated on a special project this summer to allow staff and students better access to timetabling information for every GTA room on campus.

Coaching Conversations - Friday 12 October
This course is all about helping others to develop, empowering them to take responsibility and will feature techniques for giving effective, constructive feedback in ‘positive’ as well as ‘difficult’ situations.
Customer care for front desk & reception roles - Thursday 18 October
After attending this course, participants will know how to deal professionally and effectively with customers, however difficult they may be, and reduce their own stress levels at the same time.
Mental Health First Aid - Thursday 1 & Thursday 8 November
This course is aimed at all staff but particularly those who support students' well-being, and want to increase their knowledge, confidence and skills in dealing with mental health awareness and disorders.

Special Olympics National Summer Games heading to Bath
Bath will host the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games for the first time next year, with most of the 12-sport event taking place at the University of Bath.
Graduate Carl returns to Bath for one final training session
University of Bath graduate and former English number one badminton player Carl Baxter returned to the Sports Training Village to thank his former coach.
Team Bath judo player Gregg Varey is celebrating winning silver at the European Cup in Finland at the weekend.
