Recycling in 4 West Nucleus

Plastics: Use the recycling bin in the Kitchen or in the corridor between OPP and OUS

     YES: plastic bottles, oven-ready meal trays, yoghurt pots, tubs etc. Any plastic with 1, 2 or 4 in the recycling triangle on the packaging can be recycled.
     NO: any black plastic, plastic bags, polystyrene, clingfilm, hard plastic

Cans: Use the recycling bin in the Kitchen or in the corridor between OPP and OUS

    YES: aluminium/steel cans, drink cans, food tins, foil
    NO: hard metal items, cutlery

Paper: Use the paper bins found in most individual and shared offices. Sensitive paper waste should be sent for confidential shredding and recycling.

    YES: office paper, plain & window envelopes, printed paper, junk mail, packaging from reams of paper, magazines, newspapers, brochures, catalogues, stapled paper.
    NO: cardboard, brown paper or envelopes, plastic bindings, drink cups, food wrappings.

Glass: Please place clear glass for recycling in the box in the kitchen. When the box is full, the glass should be taken to the recycling bin on Parade (opposite Fresh).

Cardboard: Flatten large boxes. Cardboard can be left for recycling at the waste recycling point in the kitchen or between OPP and OUS.

Batteries: Rechargeable batteries should be used where possible. Non rechargeable batteries should be left for recycling at the waste recycling point in the kitchen or between OPP and OUS.

Stamps: Used stamps are collected for charity in the kitchen.

Bottle tops: Milk bottle tops are collected for recycling in the kitchen.

Compact discs: Can be recycled.

 
General Waste
Please think twice before placing items in the general waste. Are you sure it cannot be reused or recycled?
