REVIEW OF FACULTY/SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
BACKGROUND
Council and Senate approved a number of proposals for re-organisation in Summer 2009. The implementation of these proposals included a review of the current division of responsibilities being undertaken between central professional services, Faculties and Schools and Departments. The need for the administration to be re-organised into a faculty-focused model was subsequently identified and it was agreed that the transfer to the faculty-focused model would be undertaken in three phases.
The first phase involved the mapping of the fundamental processes that support the student lifecycles at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These were approved by Vice-Chancellor’s Group on 14th December 2009.
The responsibility for taking forward the above models shifted to the Faculties/Schools from January 2010 and was led by the Directors of Administration in consultation with the Deans and Heads of Department. The new administrative structure was implemented with effect from 1st August 2010.
