Publication of Key information Sets and Wider Information Sets

Following a consultation exercise in spring 2011, HEFCE has published further details of the requirements relating to Key Information Sets (KIS) and wider information sets in HEFCE 2011/18 "Provision of information about higher education."

HEFCE requires a KIS to be published on the University's website by the end of September 2012 for each undergraduate programme planned for 2013/14. The KIS will comprise a mixture of institutionally generated data (e.g. breakdown of contact hours and assessment methods) and data collected nationally through the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey and the National Student Survey (NSS). On the basis of the data provided a draft KIS will be generated for each programme. HEFCE will make these available for quality checking by institutions in summer 2012. The collection, quality checking and signoff of data within the University will be coordinated by the Office of Policy and Planning, working with academic departments, the LTEO and Registry. A project team will shortly be established to guide preparations for the publication of KIS. The work will be taken forward in collaboration with colleagues responsible for producing and making available aspects of the wider information set.
