Profile

My role as a Teacher Practitioner Pharmacist involves splitting my time between teaching within the Pharmacy Practice Group in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology and practising my profession as a Community Pharmacist at Lloyds Pharmacy.

I teach undergraduates across years 1 - 4 of the Master of Pharmacy Degree in all aspects of Pharmacy Practice including ‘Responding to Symptoms’ and ‘Dispensing’ delivered via lectures, workshops, dispensing classes and OSCEs (Observed Structured Clinical Examinations). As well as group sessions, I also work ‘one to one’ mentoring dissertation students.

I contribute to the preparation, design, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching in pharmacy practice and to ongoing course management including the evaluation and development of teaching.

I take an active role in University Open Days and am jointly responsible for organising the Pharmacy Practice timetable.
My work as a community pharmacist involves being the first point of contact for the general public seeking healthcare advice, dispensing medication and providing various services under the NHS Pharmacy Contract to different patient groups. My special interests include Care Homes, Sexual Health and Drug Misuse.
