Professor Dmitry Skyrabin

Research Interests
Professor Skryabin has broad expertise in numerical and analytical methods for solving evolution equations emerging in nonlinear optics and related fields. His research touches on variety of problems: solitons in fibers, spatio-temporal optical solitons and vortices, optical supercontinuum, short pulses, photonic crystals, nano-photonics, optical resonators, quantum optics, Bose-Einstein condensation, surface waves and others. Professor Skryabin has made important and recognised contributions in the fields of optical solitons and nonlinear waves and into prediction and explanation of several nonlinear effects in photonic crystal fibres. He has co-authored more than 60 publications in leading scientific journals and numerous conference presentations.Professor Skryabin has been the principle investigator and a co-investigator on several projects funded by EPSRC, Leverhulme Trust and Royal Society and is an acting associate editor for Optics Express.
