Dr Fetah Benebid
Profile
Benabid has pioneered the incorporation of photonic bandgap fibres into scientific and technological applications. He fabricates and characterises new types of hollow-core fibre for his experiments. He has created ultra-compact all-fibre gas cells in which he has demonstrated stimulated Raman scattering, electromagnetically-induced transparency, saturable absorption and laser-frequency stabilisation. Future research will include coherent optics, development of novel optical waveform synthesisers and atomic clocks.
