Dr Susan Milner receives Emerald Award for Excellence

7 August 2012

Dr Susan Milner with her Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012 Dr Susan Milner has been given a Highly Commended award in the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012, for her 2011 article (co-authored with Abigail Gregory) entitled Fathers and work-life balance in France and the UK: policy and practice published in International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy (31, 1-2: 34-52).

Every year Emerald invites each journal’s Editorial Team to nominate up to three Highly Commended Papers from the previous 12 months.

The Highly Commended article was also the journal’s most downloaded article of 2011, with 50% more downloads than the next most downloaded piece.

The award follows earlier success with an article by Dr Milner entitled 'Choice' and 'flexibility' in reconciling work and family: towards a convergence in policy discourse on work and family in France and the UK? published in Policy and Politics (38,1, 3-21), which was the journal’s most downloaded article in 2010.

Further information about the awards and access to winning articles (free for a period of three months) is available on the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence webpages.

You can access Dr Milner’s publications on the OPUS webpages.
