David Galbreath appointed Professor of International Security

David Galbreath has been promoted to Professor of International Security in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies.
Prof Galbreath joined the University in September 2010 and has previously been Director of Studies for the MA International Relations and European Politics and MA International Security programmes.
He has recently commenced work on a new research project entitled ‘ Biochemical security 2030 - towards improved science-based multilevel governance’ with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Defence Science and Technology Lab (DSTL).
Speaking about his promotion, Prof Galbreath commented: “It is an excellent feeling to have your
approaches to research and teaching seen in such light by the University. I am very pleased with
the promotion to Professor and look forward to continuing my contribution with my colleagues and
students.”
Prof Charlie Lees (Head of Department) said: “I am delighted that David has been made
Professor of International Security. It is both a recognition of David's growing stature in the
field of Security studies and also further evidence of the University's backing of the Department
of Politics, Languages, and International Studies as we further expand our research and teaching
activities.”
