Bath Alumni visit to Paris
McBride's Irish Pub
Thursday 16 May 2013
Over 80 alumni and students gathered for a lively social and networking evening in the heart of Paris on Thursday 16 May.
The event was jointly hosted by Dr Steve Wharton, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies, and Marc HcHugo (BSc IMML (German) 2007), Leader of the France Alumni Chapter. Many of those who attended the event are students - both past and present - of Steve's and it was a great opportunity to catch up with old faces from the Department. Dr Wharton was able to bring everyone news from the University and share some of our recent successes with a captive audience.
The evening united current students undertaking a professional placement in the city with Bath's graduates who have pursued a career there, making it an ideal forum for the group to share expertise and knowledge about career prospects and life after university.
The University of Bath France Chapter, established in 2012 and led by Marc, has held several social events in the past 18 months, and this was the largest yet, widening a community of Bath students and alumni despite being hundreds of miles away from campus. To find out more information, take a look at the France Chapter webpage or join the network on Facebook.
Photos from the evening are available on Facebook or Flickr. If you would like a copy of any of the photos, please email alumni@bath.ac.uk.
