Profile

Nick Regan is responsible for Postgraduate and final year Undergraduate courses in Spanish-English Translation.

After graduating from the University of Leeds he moved to Latin America, where he taught EFL and French.

He also worked as Public Translator to the Paraguayan Supreme Court.

On his return to the UK he continued to work in translation and interpreting, and completed an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Reading with a dissertation in social bilingualism.

Nick joined the University in 2011 as convenor of postgraduate Spanish-English translation. He also currently teaches the final year undergraduate MLES courses.

He has worked as a liaison interpreter for institutions including the Fairtrade Foundation, the Paraguayan Ministry of Justice, the Neumann Foundation and Labour International, in contexts as diverse as child adoption, presidential campaigns, and international banking and trade meetings.

He also worked in Latin America as a simultaneous conference interpreter for technology and agriculture.
